Hopefully eclectic and full of renders.

Entry for August 10, 2008
I've been using Pendragon's free environment light for DAZ Studio for ages. He just came out with version 2 in the DAZ store. Had to get it. Been spending the last few days getting a feeling for the new features and feel. I've been doing renders like a mad woman lately.

Here's one. Another LadyLittleFox gumdrop on the Bolladon!

Have things improved yet?
photo
Another test to see if there have been any improvements in this blogging software. It's been a while. Sorry....

Another image, not sure I even remember what it is but I had uploaded it to my website a couple months ago and never got around to posting it. Been really really busy lately.

Okay...another image for this blog thing to mangle---this time I hope I'm able to link to the full one. Would rather link to my image that sits on a webpage instead of just a jpg but I haven't gotten around to making a page yet. Actually I forgot. So....

Still can't link image to anything...doesn't show up in source code. So this is it. Weird double spacing and font size problems may be fixed. We'll see after I actually post this. Boy I just love talking to myself.

BTW, I did the image in DAZ Studio--natch. Characters are Sadie and Hiro (Micah). No postwork except for Levels with Photoshop.

Whoever drops by, please enjoy.

Two Gumdrop hairs plus a hair by Ann at Art Collaborations for her Little Witch character for Candy.

The little carol book is from Pokeydots.

Backdrop by RubyT and was part of the Renderosity Holiday giveaway this year.

Assembled and rendered in DAZ Studio using the shadow catcher feature of pwCatch plugin, 1 bounce light, 1 shadowed distant light, and Pendragon's environment light for AO (ambient occusion).

Render time: about two minutes.

And the experiment begins!
photo
I've wanted to blog for a while now. Post an image or two along the way. Give some tips and tricks on using DAZ Studio. Talk about cats (groan) and anything else that comes to mind.

Blogging should at least get me back in my groove (whatever that was).

And perhaps in another month or two or ten, I might even work on the main page at Cricket-Studio to take it out of the '90's era and into the 21st century. LOL I love it. I'm talking to myself. Oh well.

I'm going to test how Yahoo! mangles (or not) an image I upload. Nice excuse to show another holiday image.

Rendered in DAZ Studio (surprise!). Oh, wait, that's the name. Surprise!

(Yahoo! did a job on the image, that's for sure. It's smaller and now jpegged to death.)

Later....
